Ju-Jitsu, (also known as jujitsu, Ju Jutsu and Jiu-jitsu) meaning ‘the gentle art’ and is an ancient martial art used by Samurai Warriors, and therefore originated and was developed in medieval Japan.

Ju-Jitsu is a method of close combat for defeating an armed and armoured opponent in which one uses no weapon, or only a short weapon. Practitioners of the art learned that the most efficient methods for neutralizing an enemy took the form of a system of punches, joint locks, strikes, kicks, throws, ground grappling and weapons.

Ju-Jitsu is based on the principal of using an aggressor’s or attacker’s energy against him, to their own disadvantage rather than directly opposing it, so you don’t have to be extremely strong to train.

Ju-Jitsu skills can be used by men, women and children to counter aggressive situations ranging from unwanted harassment to armed physical assault.
