whats the price for the under 16’s classes. thanks
Andy,
Classes are £4 each week if you pay as you go, but you can use a prepay card which works out at £3.50.
Hope this helps
cheers pal I will be bringing my son and daughter on monday. its about time winsford had something other than just karate for kids.
James had a brilliant time tonight & will definitely be returning next week
Excellent, glad to hear it… See you next week then.
hey im 15 so i would be in juniors i want to go to the class what type of fighting style is jujistu ive done a bit boxing training however ive not done good at sparing but i have always wanted to learn a marshal art with what ive learned in boxing should i have a slight advantage im about 8 and havle stone so i know im a lightweight btw is their a ranking system like whit belt etc
Hi Kyle,
JuJitsu primary is self defence techniques via a combination of throws, strikes and joint locks. We also do some grappling which is very different from boxing.
When you start you will be a white belt and each year we hold two gradings (exams), so that you can progress to your next belt.
Hope this helps.. Just come down anytime, bring a friend if you want.
okay thanks ill try and come
my son really enjoyed himself tonight at the new club, he will definatley return next week, I would also recommend this club to any other parents.
Hi, I used to attend a BJJ class at Impact (now Gracie Barra Stoke) in Tunstall until I moved here to Winsford, do you teach BJJ or traditional Ju-Jistu?
We moved in 2010 and I’ve been looking for a local class since but have been put off by the meathead/mma/douchebag clubs, I think you might be exactly what I’m looking for.
I only have a black Gi would this be a problem? (I know some Gracie clubs prefer white/blue GB ones)
Lee, we teach traditional JuJitsu. A black Gi is fine, you would however need a white one when it comes to grades.
i come to this club and i would recomend it to anyone.
Hi, Do you have any plans to have to have more training sessions other then a Monday night?
James. No current plans for the Winsford club to open a second night, we do however train on a Wednesday in Cuddington.
I think I will be attending tonight’s session do I need anything or just rock up in shorts and t shirt?
Harry, you are more than welcome to come down. Yes to clothing, just make sure you wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting pulled and stretched. You might be better in jogging bottoms to shorts but either are fine.
cheers, is the session 4 pound?
First session is FREE… then £4 after that, but you can prepay and get sessions for £3.50.
I’m thinking of coming for my first lesson on Monday. I’m 18, and just curious what I should wear? Also would facial piercings be removed? I practiced Karate for a few years but looking to try something new.
Cheers
Nathan, best to wear old clothes that you wouldn’t mind if damaged, or if you have a Gi or rash guard that will also do. Yes you will need to remove any piercings.
See you monday
To become a member, do I have to go to the winsford club and speak to a member of staff about joining?
Hi Joe, yes, just come down on Monday and give it a go.
Hi, my 7 year old has adhd, in particular hyperactivity, would your class environment be suitable for him as he can be a little excitable at times?
Hi Diane,
Yes, I’m sure your son will be fine. We have a number of students with ADHD and it has not been a problem before.
Hello I have 2 sons aged 7 and 51/2 but would like them both to join together, would that be possible with my youngest being a few months off being 6? Also do you just show up or do you have to book?
Kayley,
Great news that your boys want to start JuJitsu. Unfortunately we would require your youngest son to be at least 6 years old, it’s to do with ‘duty of care’ and youth clubs. Feel free to bring him down to watch and the next 6 months will fly by.
There is no requirement to book, just turn up any night. Hope this helps, sorry that it might not be the answer you were looking for.
I did a ladies’ self defence course with you a while back and really enjoyed it. Now I find myself without other commitments on a Monday evening, so would like to start classes. Do you have a good attendance of ladies?
Hi Cyra, apologies for the slow reply. We have a couple of ladies that come on a regular basis. If you’re still interested you should come down one day.
Hi i was wondering if the club was still up and running as i was thinking of joining also how much is the senior classes as next year i will be 16 and would like to do this for more than just one year.
thankyou
Hi Bradley. Yes the club is still open. Senior classes are £4 per class, but your first session is free.
Hi are u still open on mondays in winsford i would like to learn a bit off mashall arts before get to old…
Hi Mike, yes we’re still open. Come down any Monday
Hi just wandering if you’re still open? And also what’s the rough age ranges of the over 16s? I’m 26 would just like to think there are people similarly aged thanks.
Hi, We have a senior class which runs from 8:30-9:45 every Monday (excluding bank holidays), the class is for 16+ however the average age of students is around 30 currently, so you’ll be fine.
Come down tomorrow and give it a try.
